Vertical Fusion was founded in 2011 by Melanie Piek after taking pole dance classes and falling head over heels in love with it. Melanie initially sought out pole dancing as an alternative fitness program and quickly discovered that it was way more than that. After experiencing personal transformation, both physically and mentally, she was compelled to share it with others. Since opening her first studio, Melanie has reignited her passion for movement, rediscovered her identity as a strong and empowered person, healed past wounds from abusive relationships, and liberated the most expressive and colorful side of her spirit. Now Melanie dedicates every day of her life, creating a space where other people can experience their own transformations.

Over the years Melanie has dedicated herself to professional level training both as a performer and as a teacher. Melanie has earned the following titles/qualifications:

• 2013 & 2014 Colorado Pole Championship Master Division 1st Place Winner
• 2015 PSO Masters Division Drama 1st Place
• 2015 PSO Master Division Entertainment 2nd Place
• 2016 Erotic Pole Dance World Championship 3rd Place
• Qualified for the 2016, 2017, & 2018 NAPDC Women's Elite Pro Division
• 2017 Colorado Pole Championship 2nd Place Doubles
